Alfresco Getting Started

Alfresco Community Edition is open source Enterprise Content Management software that handles any type of content, allowing users to easily share and collaborate on content.

If you have installed Websoft9 Alfresco, the following steps is for your quick start

Preparation​

  1. Get the Internet IP of your Server on Cloud
  2. Check your Inbound of Security Group Rule of Cloud Console to ensure the TCP:80 is allowed
  3. Complete Five steps for Domain if you want to use Domain for Alfresco
  4. Get default username and password of Alfresco

Alfresco Initialization​

Steps for you​

  1. Use local browser to access: http://DNS or http://Server's Internet IP. Click [Alfresco Repository]->[Alfresco Share].

  2. Log in Alfresco web console. (Don't have password?)

Alfresco Setup​

Configure SMTP​

  1. Get SMTP related parameters in the mailbox management console

  2. Log in Alfresco Console, configure SMTP (Need more research)

Resetting Password​

here are two main measures to reset password.

Changing password

Take the steps below:

  1. Login Alfresco, open 【Administrator】>【My Profile】 Alfresco modify password

  2. Click【Change your Password】, start to change the password.

Forgot Password

Try to retrieve your password through database table as below:

  1. Use SSH to connect Alfresco instances

  2. Run the psql of Alfresco

    docker exec -it alfresco-postgres psql -U alfresco -d alfresco

  3. Modify password by below SQL command (The new password is set to admin)

    UPDATE alf_node_properties SET string_value='209c6174da490caeb422f3fa5a7ae634' WHERE node_id=4 and qname_id=10

  4. Exit the psql of PostgreSQL, then restart all containers

    cd /data/wwwroot/alfresco
    docker-compose restart
